Standard for excellence
I set a standard for excellence in providing the highest quality psychological services to all individuals and groups. My practice only includes those professionals who have been trained in mental health care or have appropriate accredited training in the workshops they are presenting. As a graduate of the Monash University’s Master of Counselling Course, I am the Clinical Supervisor for the Hong Kong English speaking Monash University online students, thus ensuring best practice is maintained.

Liz McCaughey is a psychotherapist, counsellor, clinical supervisor and presenter with over 20 years’ counselling experience. She has founded two successful businesses in Hong Kong (aMindset) and Australia (Kumara), helping empower thousands of people through knowledge and self-discovery.
Liz specialises in Depression, Anxiety & Stress Management, Couples Therapy, Mindfulness, Crisis Intervention, Parenting and Eating Disorders. In her practice she utilises evidence-based treatment and psychodynamic therapy as well as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness techniques and Gottman Couples therapy.
Liz specialises in bridging the gap between psychology & counselling, spirituality and human potential. Using her counselling training, life experience and spiritual knowledge, she weaves modern neuroscience with ancient spiritual text to bring about actionable solutions and lasting change. Her counselling focuses on an outcomes-based approach placing the emphasis on the client’s desired outcomes from the therapy sessions.
Her coaching and workshops focus on the practical applications of emotional intelligence and mindfulness for businesses to maximise performance, create cohesive teams and maintain wellness. Liz’s has run group workshops and individual sessions for the likes of Shell Australia, the University of Western Australia and the Royal Australian Air Force.
With a career that includes being an air traffic controller, corporate businesswoman, psychotherapist, mentor, mother of three and spiritual entrepreneur, Liz has a depth of awareness and expertise to benefit all people – young to old.
Through aMindset, Liz communicates with thousands of people through weekly newsletters and on Facebook and Twitter and inspires people to learn and to grow. Through her Daily Mind Matters Page Liz offers free audio meditations and practical techniques to cope with the various problems that present in life.
Liz lives in Hong Kong with her husband, Roger. When Rog and Liz are not working they spend their time travelling the world and also visiting their 3 sons in Australia.
