Social Anxiety

What is Social Anxiety

Throughout the world millions of people suffer from Social Phobia, which is now referred to as Social Anxiety Disorder. Social Anxiety can have a devastating impact on a person’s life. The reason a person suffers from it can relate to one specific anxiety or just general social anxiety.

Many people feel inferior to other people, they may feel guilty and worry a lot. Decision making is an ordeal and they often accept blame and feel embarrassed. They do not cope well with being teased and they loath being the centre of attention or having to socialise, especially with people they do not know.

Although they know their anxiety is irrational, they cannot stop the anxious thoughts. Despite being brave and facing their anxiety on a daily basis, the best method for overcoming social anxiety is through therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (link?) is a very effective method for treating social anxiety. And if a person wants to go deeper into the cause of their anxiety then psychotherapy is also very effective.

You do not have to suffer social anxiety, seek out a qualified therapist and start to overcome this debilitating form of anxiety.
