Physical Health

Physical inactivity has been identified as the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality causing 6% of deaths globally. Furthermore the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that physical inactivity is estimated to be the main cause for approximately 21–25% of breast and colon cancers, 27% of diabetes and approximately 30% of heart disease burden

And it is not just a lack of physical activity that is a major worldwide problem. The WHO says that worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975. In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults, 18 years and older, were overweight. Of these over 650 million were obese. Most of the world’s population live in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight

Obesity has been associated with the onset of mental illness (link) resulting in a double whammy of physical and mental disorders

The combination of a lack of physical exercise and overeating is killing the modern day generation and driving them towards a mental breakdown
