Roger McCaughey has worked for Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong for nearly 30 years. He is an experienced airline pilot and simulator instructor. Prior to that he was a fighter pilot with the British Royal Air Force and flew the Harrier jump jet. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland.

As a Qualified Flying Instructor in the RAF and a Senior Training Captain and Simulator Instructor in the airline, Roger has extensive experience in training pilots in the basic as well as the most advanced levels of flying and has guided many of them through their Command Course.

He has been involved with aMindset and the KumaraHub company in Australia since 2003. As an instructor, he is aware of the various effects that the strains of flying can have on the whole family. He works with his wife, Liz, in helping to expand understanding of the pressures involved in this unique profession and to formulate ways of mitigating the particular stresses that differently effect both pilot and family.
