Shane grew up in Canada and Hong Kong. Her experience as a TEFL teacher and as an internal consultant in the commercial sector has enabled her to work with people from diverse backgrounds. She has also been coaching and mentoring children, youths and parents for the past 11 years. Approachability, empathy, and a clear mind are her assets when working with clients with different needs and developments. Most clients quickly build rapport with her. Shane enjoys her work as a counsellor because it allows her to walk with people in all seasons of their lives. She is committed to support her clients’ journey of self-discovery non-judgementally through person-centred approach.
She has worked with clients with depression, anxiety, bereavements, marital issues, work/school stresses, parenting/family matters and personal developmental needs. Shane has been exposed to various therapies including Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioural Cognitive Therapy (CBT), which she finds to be effective with her clients. Shane is devoted to develop her professional skills continually throughout the counselling career so that she can best support her clients.
